The following data file,,,, entirely in GULFPLOT format contains a draft listing of "long-term" opera-,,,, tional ocean measurements along the U.S. coast (including the Great Lakes),,,, sorted first by region and then by agency program.,,,, FILE CONTENTS,,,, The "station" field usually contains the unique alphanumeric identifier,,,, for the station assigned by the particular national or regional program,,,, cited in the several header lines. The date/time field contains a self-,,,, explanatory discription of the record length for the station. Excepting,,,, the data buoys - only presently operational stations are included. Due to,,,, their extreme value - presently decommissioned buoy sites have been left in,,,, the file. The GULFPLOT program charts existing stations as small circles,,,, with (optional) labels; decommissioned stations are plotted as non-labelled,,,, points. When stations have been moved slightly since their original deploy-,,,, ment the file reflects the most recent location.
